Aspen is a place for leaders to lift their sights above the possessions which possess them. To confront their own nature as human beings, to regain control over their own humanity by becoming more self-aware, more self-correcting, and hence more self-fulfilling.
We ignite a global community of values-driven leaders with the moral courage, clarity of purpose, and transformative vision to drive lasting positive change in the world.
02 Our Vision
A world where an interconnected community of values-driven leaders collaborate across differences to address humanity’s greatest challenges — ensuring that as human capabilities advance, our wisdom and values grow alongside them, creating a society where everyone thrives.
03 Our Mission
We provide leaders with a lifetime community for deep reflection and bold action. Through meaningful dialogue and ongoing support, we transform accomplished individuals into catalysts for meaningful impact.
Our story is one of evolution, building on the Aspen Institute’s 75-year legacy of igniting leadership. What began as a revolutionary idea — that leaders need not just technical knowledge but deep wisdom — has grown into a global community spanning continents and sectors.
This timeline highlights key milestones in our growth, from our origins starting with the Henry Crown Fellowship to our present network of more than 4,000 Fellows across 62 countries. Each step reflects our ongoing commitment to cultivating values-driven leadership and action. The AGLN is stewarded by the Board of Trustee’s Leadership Committee, ensuring its continued integrity and impact.
As we look to the future, we continue to expand into critical domains shaping humanity’s next chapter for the better, ensuring that as human capabilities grow, our wisdom and values grow alongside them.
