SUBJECT explores the life-altering experience of sharing one’s life on screen through the participants of five acclaimed documentaries. As tens of millions of people consume documentaries in an unprecedented “golden era,” the film urges audiences to consider the impact on documentary participants—the good, the bad, and the complicated.

Filmmaker Jennifer Tiexiera and film subject Mukunda Angulo will participate in a post-screening panel and audience Q&A moderated by Journalist Andrew Travers.

The Aspen Institute Arts Program and Aspen Film are pleased to announce the line-up of acclaimed documentaries for the 2022 Eisner/Lauder New Views Documentaries & Dialogue Series: GABBY GIFFORDS WON’T BACK DOWN,  SUBJECT, and STILL WORKING 9 TO 5. The summer series features critically acclaimed documentaries and conversations with special guests. All films will be screened at 7:30pm in-person at the Isis Theatre (406 E. Hopkins Ave, Aspen). Mask wearing – except when actively eating or drinking – will be required for all attendees. Single tickets ($20 GA/$16 for Aspen Film Members and select Aspen Institute members) can be purchased online at aspenfilm.org/newviews22. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of each event, and tickets, if available, will be for sale at the door.
