Aspen is a place for leaders to lift their sights above the possessions which possess them. To confront their own nature as human beings, to regain control over their own humanity by becoming more self-aware, more self-correcting, and hence more self-fulfilling.

September 25, 2024
Business & Society Program, and Aspen Institute Business & Society Summit
Chief Sustainability Officers (CSOs) are entrusted with implementing strategies to meet the climate and environmental commitments of the largest global public companies. Increasingly, they must develop new operational strategies at speed and scale, rethinking how to engage employees, customers, suppliers and wider stakeholders. In this session at the Business & Society Program’s Aspen ESG Summit 2024, three Chief Sustainability Officers discussed the importance of taking an ecosystem approach to accelerate innovation, enable a seamless total customer experience, and weave sustainability into all aspects of the business.Customers want companies to make sustainability easy, attractive, and integrated with their daily lives. These CSOs highlighted their companies’ leading practices, from creating electric vehicles that fit the entire family, to piloting reusable coffee cups, to innovating in partnership with local communities.
